This little Mexican spot in Bankers Hill is such a great find—especially for Taco Tuesday! They offer 2.29 tacos, and you can choose from asada, pollo, carnitas, or adobada. Each one is packed with flavor and super satisfying for the price. It’s a walk-up style spot, which adds to the charm, but you can also order ahead for added convenience. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe is super cute and casual. If you’re in the area and craving tacos that won’t break the bank, this is a must-try!

First time here, we tried the ocho mini torta it was really good. It came with 3 different salsas they were delicious spicy just like we like it ! And we also had the cafe de Hoya it was good but a little to sweet. The vibe and music was uplifting, made me wanna dance and start my day !

California Burrito Rating (6) Embarking on a quest to rank San Diego's California Burritos! Sixth stop: Ocho Mexican Food & Cafe. Product: A delicious, hot burrito. Had to wait a few minutes for preparation. There’s a distinct flavor that I couldn’t quite pinpoint—maybe it's the amazing tortilla or the meat. A selection of fresh, flavorful sauces is available. Average burrito price in the city: 12. I’d rank this burrito third. 8 out of 10 Service: Friendly staff. My name was pronounced correctly for the first time. Positive interaction throughout. 10 out of 10 Ambiance: Cool, vibrant colors, Mexican style. Eating while standing at bright tables outside. I enjoyed it, and the nearby planes added to the vibe. 7 out of 10

Stopped by while visiting San Diego for a quick snack. Elotes were on my mind and they had some variations other than original. Tried the flaming hot cheetos and original. Personally I liked the original better than flaming hot. Valentina hot sauce on the original vs chili powder was kinda new for me with a vinegary taste, but not bad. It does make it a bit messy though. Small stand, with limited seating. No parking.

I’m not really a taco person however, this place changed my mind! I ate here TWICE during my stay and got the chicken and steak taco. It’s family owned and the workers are so nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend trying there tacos - you won’t regret it!

Cute food spot across from the Sharp Rees Stealy downtown clinic. Very pleasant atmosphere and interesting menu. The food was excellent and the service efficient. The young lady taking orders was not particularly customer service oriented. However everything else was top-notch. The carne asada burrito was meaty and not over salted, with fresh pico de gallo and avocado. Seems to get very busy at breakfast and lunch time. They also seem to do a pretty brisk coffee business.

Hands down the best Mexican food in San Diego. The prices are very reasonable, and the quality is consistently excellent. Even during busy hours, the food is prepared quickly. The drinks are both delicious and creatively crafted. My only suggestion would be to add a loyalty program—it would definitely be a nice touch. The location is ideal, too. A perfect day includes grabbing a meal here and enjoying it at Balboa Park. Highly recommend—this place is a San Diego must!
